About Us
Wagon Rut Ranch boasts ring neck pheasant hunting beyond your greatest expectations!  We also offer fishing and goose hunting; you can hunt geese in the morning and pheasants in the afternoon.
In the heart of South Dakota's premiere pheasant hunting; we are located 30 miles east of Pierre, the state’s capital on the Missouri River.    We offer great rates - no high priced packages with extras you don’t need - just one low price.
Fantastic wild bird hunting, great rates, the best in bird dogs, home-cooked country style breakfasts to start your day and clean, comfortable lodging are what Wagon Rut Ranch is all about!

Land Available
The Ranch has approximately 3500 acres of family-owned land available for hunting, offering a vast array of cover, specifically managed for this purpose.  Ring-necked pheasant and sharp-tail grouse are the primary game birds.   You may also see coveys of Hungarian partridge.

Game Offered
Pheasant Packages: $250 per person per day, includes guided hunt with dog,  Lodging and meals.
$185 per person per day includes guided hunt with dog.
Sharp-tail Grouse: Bonus birds, Free with paid pheasant hunt.
Prairie Chicken: Bonus birds, Free with paid pheasant. huntGoose hunting: can be added to any package for $150 day.
Dove Hunting & Walleye Fishing: The month of September is awesome fishing and dove hunting, all inclusive trip for $275 day per person, includes lodging and meals. Call for details.

Lodging
KickBack Lodge is newly constructed and features a western décor that you will find comfortable and relaxing. The daily lodge rate includes: lodging, delicious home cooked meals and snacks, satellite TV, and indoor parking. We can also accommodate if you are not interested in meals. Special rates for groups of 6 or more.

Meals
The breakfast and evening meal will be at the lodge and the noon meal will be packed for you to enjoy during your  hunt. Economy hunters will find plenty of restaurants in Pierre.
